IT IS IN BOOK FOUR THAT IT IS MENTIONED THAT SORTING HAT BELONGED TO GRYFFINDOR AND THE FOUNDERS PUT THEIR BRAINS IN IT.

Book 5
Here sorting hat explains what actually happend between the founders. It tells that founders were united.....Slytherin and Gryffindor were best of friends and so were Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff...there only goal was to start the world's best magic school. When they were starting they had divided opinions about which students would be accepted into Hogwarts...Slytherin =pure bloods..Gryffindor = Brave ....Ravenclaw= intelligent......Hufflepuff=all of them and treat them as equal.....hence four houses formed and reunited their friendship.......they were very happy for several years but suddenly they seperated.....there was a war among them they duelled each other.......and Slytherin left them even though the fighting had stopped

WHY DID SLYTHERIN HAVE A PROBLEM ALL OF A SUDDEN...WHEN THEY WERE HAPPY AT THE BEGINNING WHAT HAPPENED THAT SEPARATED THEM THAT THEY HAD TO FIGHT EACH OTHER?? WHY WAS SLYTHERIN SO ANGRY THAT HE BUILT A SECRET CHAMBER THAT WOULD HARM THE STUDENTS INNOCENT KIDS? DID HE REALLY INTEND FOR TOM RIDDLE TO OPEN THE CHAMBER AND KILL MUGGLE BORN KIDS?


Salazar Slytherin

Helga Hufflepuff

One of the four celebrated Founders of Hogwarts, Hufflepuff was particularly famous for her dexterity at food-related Charms. Many recipes traditionally served at Hogwarts feasts originated with Hufflepuff

The four houses “correspond roughly to the four elements.” Gryffindor is fire, Ravenclaw is air, Hufflepuff is earth, and Slytherin is water.
